Ibiza - one of the most famous holiday destinations in the world, which also just happens to be one of the most beautiful islands you'll find anywhere. Verdant rolling hills and open plains merge into beaches of golden sand dipping into the azure Mediterranean. Although it has consistently been one of the most popular of all holiday destinations for Britons for decades, the island has retained its historic traditional character by keeping purpose-built holiday resorts to the coast and letting the rest of the island carry on undisturbed. No matter what tyoe of holiday you like, you'll be well catered for in Ibiza. From the sun, sand and all-night music of the resorts to the mediaeval villages and orchards inland, wild partying to culture and architecture, you'll find it all in Ibiza.
On Ibiza’s east coast lies Cala Llonga, tucked between the steep banks of pine-covered hillsides and only 15km northeast of Ibiza Town. Cala Llonga is definitely the spot for a quiet holiday - nightlife is limited to some bars and restaurants run by friendly British residents, while days can be spent relaxing on the golden sands of the cove.
Beaches in Cala Llonga
Cala Llonga has a beautiful sheltered bay, boasting a splendid, gently shelving sweep of golden sand, making it perfect for relaxing. Spend your days lounging on the sunbeds and adopting the true Mediterranean lifestyle, while children can build sand castles to their hearts’ content. There are also a variety of watersports on offer, too.
Shopping in Cala Llonga
Those interested in shopping will be pleased to know that Ibiza has a long tradition of potters and a shorter one of jewelers who came to the island in its artists' colony days. If you want something a little more ethnic, then try the famous hippy market in nearby Es Cana. For the more serious shopper there is Ibiza town which is well worth a visit and boasts a large variety of shops.
Cala Llonga Nightlife
Try the local liqueur 'hierbas' as you relax in one of the bars or restaurants, some of which are run by friendly British residents. There are a few discos on offer locally but for a livelier night out visit the nearby, ultra-glamorous Ibiza Town.
Local Specialities of Cala Llonga
There's a selection of bars, cafés and restaurants in Cala Llonga. Fish, inevitably, features on most menus and the locals use it to make some tasty stews. Cinnamon and cloves are used in a number of dishes, not least the highly sweetened desserts. The drinks native to the island are made from herbs and aniseed.
